Host An Event at the International Convention Centre Sydney

The International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney is one of Australia's biggest fully integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment venues. The centre is home to the First State Super Theatre which holds up to 9,000 guests at once. An impressive 35,000m2 of indoor exhibition space can also be found at the venue, that’s the equivalent of 26 Olympic size pools. On top of this, the ICC Sydney also boasts two large ballrooms and over 70 meeting rooms.

Accessibility

Step-free entrances, elevators and escalators are available in all buildings.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for hire free of charge, and can be collected from any customer service desk.
The Convention Centre customer service desk is located on the ground floor.
The Exhibition Centre customer service desk is located on Level 2 next to Hall 4.
Aware Super Theatre customer service desk is located on Level 2 opposite door 2.

Accessible toilets, ramps and spacious passenger lifts are available throughout the venue.
Lowered or angled counters are located at key retail and customer service points.

There are also wheelchair accessible parenting rooms throughout the venue equipped with a feeding area, change table and food preparation area.

ICC Sydney has First Aid rooms located in all buildings.

Induction loop hearing augmentation systems are in place in the Grand Ballroom and Grand Ballroom Foyer.

Infre-red emitted hearing augmentation systems are in place in all meeting rooms and theatres, including Darling Harbour Theatre and Aware Super Theatre.

Complimentary hearing augmentation devices (hearing loops) are available to guests at the customer service desks located in each building. In order to collect a hearing augmentation device, a form of photo ID must be supplied. The device must remain on the premises, and the hirer must return the device to the customer service desk when no longer required.

Braille is provided on room door signage and fixed directional signage throughout the venue.

Accredited service animals are welcome inside the venue, and must be displaying their identification badge or medallion at all times.

There are a number of ways to book accessible tickets through Ticketek, by clicking the 'get accessible tickets' icon on the event page on the Ticketek website. They also have an accessible seating booking line on 1300 665 915, which is open Monday to Friday 9am—8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am—5pm.

Getting to the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney

Air Travel

The ICC Sydney is just 10km from Sydney airport, which is around an 18-minute taxi ride or a half-hour bus journey direct from the airport which will take you to Town Hall station on Park st, just a 10-minute walk away from the venue.

Train Travel

A short walk from Central or Town Hall will take you straight to the ICC Sydney. Town Hall and Central Stations are a quick 10-minute walk away from the venue.

Travel by Car

Coming from the East head Southeast on Oxford St toward Elizabeth St, take Cascade St to Glenmore Rd, take New South Head Rd and Cross City Tunnel exit, then use the middle lane to turn right onto Pier St, keep left to continue toward Darling Drive, then at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Darling Drive.

Coming from the North of the city, travel along the Harbour Bridge on Lane 5. Keep left and follow signs to Darling Harbour, then continue straight onto Harbour St, use the middle lane to turn right onto Pier St left to continue toward Darling Drive. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Darling Drive.

Coming from the West of the city, travel along the M4 Western motorway and follow the signs to Harbour Bridge. Continue onto Anzac Bridge/Western Distributor, then turn right onto Harbour St. Use the middle lane to turn right onto Pier St, then keep left to continue toward Darling Drive.

Coming from the South of the city, follow the M1 to Eastern Distributor to Darlinghurst. Exit from the M1, then take the Cross City Tunnel and Harbour St exit. Use the middle lane to turn right onto Pier St, then keep left to continue toward Darling Drive. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Darling Drive.

The best taxi drop-off/pick-up locations are the new Iron Wharf Place beside the Harbourside Shopping Centre, and Zollner Circuit on the Southern end of Aware Super Theatre, both accessible via Darling Drive.

Local Travel

Sydney’s International Convention Centre is conveniently located in the centre of ​​Sydney harbour waterfront precinct, making it extremely easily accessible, with a wide range of transport links available. The 389 and 501 bus routes stop at Harris Street near Allen Street, just 10 minutes away from the venue on foot. Ferry access is also available at Circular Quay, King Street Wharf or Pyrmont Bay Wharf.

Nearby Parking

The ICC Sydney has two 24 hour car park facilities located within the Exhibition Centre and Aware Super Theatre with 826 spaces, including 11 disabled parking bays, 25 motorcycle spaces, 50 bicycle racks and 30 electric car charging basys.

There are 20 electric car charging bays located in Car Park 1, and 10 electric car charging bays on Level 1 of Car Park 2.

ICC Sydney operates as cashless parking online, and payment can be made using credit card.

Prices range from $18 for up to one hour, up to $49 for over 4 hours, with discounted night rates. Car park rates reset at 4am daily. A monthly car park rate is available for $299 per month.

There are secure car parks located in and around Darling Harbour, including Wilson Harbourside Car Park and Wilson Darling Square Car Park.

Hotels and Accommodation near the International Convention Centre Sydney

There are multiple quality hotels within a close distance to the ICC, including the 4 star Novotel Sydney Darling Square with rooms from $164 a night, a 4 star Holiday Inn on Darling Harbour with rooms at similar prices, a 4-star Vibe Hotel with rooms around $175 and a 4 star Glasgow Arms Hotel with rooms from around $106.
