Host An Event at the QUT Venue Collection

Brisbane’s QUT Venue Collection includes Old Government House, Room Three Sixty and Gardens Theatre, located at Queensland University of Technology Gardens Point campus. These venues can accommodate a broad spectrum of in-person, hybrid or virtual events, including large public festivals, corporate functions, weddings, performing arts productions and creative events.

The QUT Venue Collection has a range of spaces for visitors to make use of, from the Gardens Theatre Complex to the many spaces inside and out the Old Government House that are available for use. Here are some sample rooms from each venue and their capacities.

All QUT precinct venues are fully-accessible.

A taxi drop-off and short-term parking zone (5 minutes) is located outside Parliament House in George Street, a 5-minute walk from Old Government House.

A number of designated disability parking bays are provided, free for those with an Australian Disability Parking permit (purple colour) or a Queensland Disability Parking permit (red colour) or a Disability Parking Permit issued by another state/territory.

Getting to the QUT Venue Collection

Air Travel

Brisbane Airport is a 20-minute drive from QUT. Driving via the Airport Link and M3 does have tolls, so be aware. This airport services 31 airlines flying to 50 domestic locations and 29 international locations, so no matter where you're coming from you'll be close by the venue.

Train Travel

Gardens Point Campus is a short walk from Central and South Bank train stations.

Local Travel

Gardens Point Campus is easily accessible from the M3 road.
The campus is a short walk from King George Square and Queen Street bus stations.

It has its own CityCat (ferry) stop too, and there are secure bike racks on the campus.

Nearby Parking

Parking is limited so use of public transport is encouraged.

The venues of QUT Venue Collection are located at the QUT Gardens Point Campus, where there are pay-on-exit parking facilities at: P Block (science & engineering centre), SZC Block (casual parking available on weekday evenings and weekends) and under freeway car park.

Up to an hour costs $15, and tickets range up to $75 for 4+ hours, and $75 to replace lost or damaged tickets.

A number of designated motorcycle parking bays are provided, and free outdoor motorcycle parking is available.

A number of designated disability parking bays are also provided, free exclusively for customers who hold either an Australian Disability Parking permit (purple colour) or a Queensland Disability Parking permit (blue colour).
You may access paid disability parking if you have either a Queensland Disability Parking permit (red colour) or a Disability Parking Permit issued by another state/territory.

Hotels & Accommodation near the QUT Venue Collection

Thanks to QUT’s central location in Brisbane City, there are plenty of hotels to choose from no matter your taste or needs, ranging from the Mantra on Mary Brisbane, where delegates can stay in modern apartment featuring city views and a pool for around $115, to the Treasury Casino and Hotel Brisbane, which offers gambling and an elegant stay in a converted government building, boasting 6 restaurants and 5 bars inside for guests to enjoy, priced at around $189.

The bustling location of the QUT Gardens Point Campus means that delegates will have an easy time finding a range of restaurants and bars closeby in Brisbane’s central business district, from a Walter’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar to Malt Dining, a classy and eclectic fine dining venue. Restaurants that serve dishes from across the globe are within walking distance to the QUT venues.
