The National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, is a vast, award-winning exhibition and event venue with 19 halls and 34 conference suites to meet any and all needs. Whether you’re hosting an event for several thousand delegates or holding a more intimate meeting for just 10 attendees, this is the perfect all-purpose venue. The NEC is home to around 500 events and 2.3 million guests per year, and is one of the most accessible venues in the UK with Birmingham International Airport right on its doorstep.

There are a number of room and space options with capacity ranging up to over 15,000. So the NEC is a superb venue hire choice for a whole host of event types and sizes.

Accessibility

Accessible toilets available, Changing Places facilities, induction loop audio systems in various locations, guide and assistance dogs are welcome.


Mobility equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis, wheelchairs available free of charge for Blue Badge holders (£5 otherwise), scooters can also be provided.


Maps of the venue and separate rooms, as well as leaflets providing information about disabled parking, navigation by car, and baby change/feeding facilities are available to download on the NEC website.

Getting To The National Exhibition Centre

Air Travel

The Birmingham Airport is around a 23-minute walk from the NEC or a 4-5 minute drive.

There is also a free and fast air-rail link to Birmingham International Railway Station located at the upper level of Terminal 1. The train runs every 2 minutes and only takes 90 seconds to reach the NEC.

Train Travel

The NEC is located a 5-minute walk from Birmingham International Railway Station.

Travel by Car

The NEC is clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes, including the M40, M42, and M6.

The postcode is B40 1NT, but this will not take you to the car park so it is important that you follow signage to the event you’re attending, and after parking either take the free shuttle bus or follow signposted footpaths. There is a PDF downloadable on the NEC website about traveling to the center by car.

Local Travel

The safest way to get to NEC by bike or foot is to use the shared cycle footpath route to Birmingham International Railway Station. The NEC is a short walk from there, and it should take you about 10 minutes.


There are numerous options for buses in the West Midlands area that will get you to the NEC, from National Express, MegaBus, and Network West Midlands.

There are over 16,500 spaces available close to the center.

Pre-booking is available well in advance, and some shows will include standard parking in the ticket price so always check before booking. Parking is entirely cashless, and only card payment is accepted at the parking machines.
